The name "Il Bistrò dei Dotti" comes from a careful and scrupulous study of the Dominican order, to which the splendid church that you can admire in this small square in the historic center of Nardò is dedicated. The Dominicans, at the height of their expansion, were considered the "DUCTED" par excellence, because through a severe personal ascent, living in poverty and begging, they used much of their time to strongly consolidate their cultural preparation through theological and biblical studies , becoming great preachers through teaching and printing. And this is exactly what we try to do. Immerse ourselves completely in cooking, in the study of new ingredients and combining them with tradition and trying to bring you all the results of all this research.

The Bistrò dei Dotti was born in November 2019 and our intent is to combine tradition with the innovations of today. We want to give more and more importance to the products of our land, even the little-known ones, to make them come to life and flavor in our dishes. Always fresh products, carefully chosen and processed with equal dedication. We have chosen to work with seasonal products, precisely to best highlight their flavors at the moment of maximum income.
